A couple of blocks away from the Upper West Side home of radio’s king of raunch, Howard Stern, his Torah-scholar daughter sits in her ankle-length skirt and recites a blessing.
Emily Stern, 32, couldn’t have a life more different from her famous father’s.

Nearly a decade ago, Howard’s eldest child decided to practice Orthodox Judaism, and traded in Friday nights about town for 20-person Shabbat dinners in an uptown apartment. Strappy dresses gave way to outfits that cover her elbows and knees.
She’s also single — and chalks that up to her pop’s habit of blabbing about graphic sex on the airwaves five days a week.
“It’s rare I go on dates [now],” Emily tells The Post. And, “my dad’s emphasis on sexuality [in his career] kept me out of the dating ring [when I was younger].”
She’s also still scarred by her parents’ 1999 split — Howard divorced college sweetheart Alison Berns, the mother of Emily and her sisters, Ashley and Debra, after 21 years of marriage.
“I believed that my parents were very much in love,” Emily says. “I felt like the divorce came out of nowhere. I thought that sacred bond was so strong. He used to be one way, and then he marries a model.” (Howard, 61, married blond bombshell Beth Ostrosky, who is 18 years his junior, in 2008.)

She muses that her mom’s re-entry into the working world might have been the straw that broke Howard’s back. “Maybe he couldn’t handle it when she went back to work as a psychoanalyst.”
Raised in tony Old Westbury, LI, the Stern daughters’ sheen as progeny of a celebrity belied a much more complicated adolescence.
Emily says it was difficult to deal with Howard’s fame.
“My dad always instilled in us, ‘Everybody’s watching you,’ ” she recalls. While Howard “always said it was for our protection,” she attributes his warnings to “narcissism.”
“I was alone. The belief that we were so different made it unhealthy,” she says. “Maybe because he was disconnected from the world, he experienced so much shame about who he was.”
She grew up fasting for Yom Kippur and enjoying family Passover Seders, but her parents weren’t particularly religious. Howard once said on-air that he hated wearing yarmulkes and joked that the theme of Emily’s bat mitzvah should be “I hate Jews.”
But Howard and Alison did practice Transcendental Meditation. Emily got her first mantra at age 10, and still practices today. In 2014, Howard told Jerry Seinfeld on an episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” that “everyone in my life meditates; I don’t think I could really live without it.”
Emily went on to graduate from the theater program at NYU’s Tisch School, but laments a lack of familial guidance when it came to pursuing a career.
“We never discussed what I’d be when I was growing up,” she says. “It sort of did me a disservice.” She now works full-time as an artist (writing plays and music and acting) while also studying Torah at the Drisha Institute.
In 2005, she was cast in the off-off-Broadway play “Kabbalah.”
Playing Madonna, Emily says she was “so excited for and committed to” the role that she colored her raven locks blond — and went nude.
But things went south after mediocre reviews surfaced. According to Emily, low ticket sales forced director Tuvia Tenenbom to trade on her “daughter-of” status — and an unauthorized video of her wearing next to nothing — to promote the show. (Tenenbom denies doing any of this.)

Gan Tiferet (Garden of Compassion) is part of Emily Stern’s series “Wells of Miriam.”
She quit six weeks in, armed with the muscle of her father’s lawyers.
“I told the director, ‘Don’t advertise who I am.’ He manipulated my love for the show for his gain,” she says.
Still, even now that she lives a life of modesty, Emily doesn’t regret the experience, and won’t discount the possibility of getting nude onstage again.
“I don’t say never to anything,” she coyly concedes.
Her next public exhibition is much more sedate: a photo exhibit opening Nov. 18 at the Hadas Gallery in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, that focuses on the water-retention landscape in Portugal. Emily calls the works the “Wells of Miriam” because it reminds her of the “mikveh,” a ritual bath in Judaism that’s associated with renewal.
Modal Trigger
Lazman Hazeh (To Reach Now) is also a part of the series “Wells of Miriam.”
“This is my way to connect with the world,” she says of her art.
As for connecting with her family these days, Emily says she is “close with both my parents” and that they have no problem with her more-religious life. “Everyone in my family is evolving — no one has that resentment toward Judaism,” she explains. She even keeps her own set of kosher dishware at her mom’s place for family dinners (sans Howard, of course).
“It took a lot of bravery [to become religious],” she says of her change over the past nine or so years. “I was trying to figure out what to be in the world. I’d say, ‘God help me.’
“The question was, ‘What am I going to do with my life?’ It was a little bit of a crisis,” she admits.
“F - - k it if [people] think it’s weird or doesn’t make sense.”

Howard Stern has a dream job offer ?

Howard Stern may or may not renew his lucrative contract with SiriusXM at the end of the year, but he will apparently have plenty of other opportunities to consider.
In fact, Stern said on his radio show Monday that a massive job offer recently fell into his lap.
"My agent called me with an opportunity that is so mind-blowing -- like, it would be the dream job of all time for me," Stern said.
He didn't divulge any specifics about the opportunity, though he joked that he had been offered a gig on the embattled E! program, "Fashion Police."
Stern's uncertain future with the satellite radio company has drawn increased attention following a Bloomberg Businessweek profile published earlier this month.
In the profile, Sirius CEO Jim Meyer made it clear that he wants to renew Stern's contract, which will expire in December.
"I want Howard Stern for as long as Howard Stern wants to work," Meyer told Bloomberg Businessweek reporter Felix Gillette. "I'm only willing to pay so much." He said. "I know what that number is. But even if I was in an al-Qaeda death camp, no one is going to know what that number is but me."

Beth Stern talks about What Makes Howard Stern Cry ?
Please RT & Share w/ fellow Howard Stern Fans . Help support Blog Shop @ Amazon Click above on Amazon Links . THX
There are a lot of misconceptions out there about Howard Stern. And though faithful fans of the shock jock are aware that he's actually at heart a charming and thoughtful guy (how else would he have landed his beautiful wife, Beth?), his haters would be amazed to learn that he's got a soft spot for animals.

While taking part in Purina's Better With Pets summit, Beth opened up to omg! about how her and Howard's lives were changed for the better when they began rescuing cats and kittens from municipal shelters; spots where euthanasia is the fate awaiting those unclaimed. After fostering the kittens for 3 to 5 weeks, the couple works to place the pets in good homes — many of which belong to Stern fans. While it's "torture" parting ways with their fosters, there was one furry feline they just couldn't say goodbye to — a blind cat named Bella who came to stay with them after they fostered her kittens and she underwent eye surgery. "[Since she's blind,] she learned our house by smell and touch. She learned who we were, and she just really bonded with Howard and me and my other four cats. Howard and I looked at each other the night and we were like, 'How can we let her go?' And it was at that moment where we said she's not going anywhere. Bella Stern, welcome to the family!"
"Howard spoke about them on the air, he photographed them, he named them," explains the model/actress/pet advocate, noting that they've had as many as 15 foster kittens living with them (at one time). "I nurtured them … and then the applications started pouring into his website. We found stellar families for our first litter of six. Now it's 47 kittens later — and we're still doing it."
Well, I scoop the poop out of the litter boxes," she laughs, adding that, "There was no convincing. After Bianca [our beloved bulldog] passed away, I said I really feel the need and the desire to foster now. I have work to do in bringing more awareness to how great cats are as pets. And [Howard] was on board with me from the second I mentioned it to him. He's been my partner in this and I could not have done this without him. He cuddles them, he kisses them, and he cries when we say goodbye. He's truly incredible." raising money to build a second story — named Bianca's Furry Friends — at the facility. "It's going to be a cage-free cat habitat for the cats that are up for adoption. The cats are going to be healthier and happier and I think living a lovely life until they're adopted. And then it's going to free up the entire downstairs for more puppy mill rescues and adult dog rescues. So it's a win win for dogs and cats."
As for the upcoming holidays, Beth reveals that she and Howard usually spend Christmas Day alone. "I'm going to savor the time we have together [before the next 'AGT' season starts], so we'll probably just be staring at each other at the house with foster kittens crawling all over us."

Howard Stern Loses Sirius Appeal ? 300 Million in stock ?

Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI): Current price $3.16
Bloomberg is reporting that Howard Stern lost a bid to revive his pay lawsuit against Sirius XM Radio, following a ruling by a New York state appeals court that he was not entitled to additional compensation. Stern’s production company, One Twelve, along with his agent, Don Buchwald, brought a lawsuit against Sirius XM Radio in 2011, saying that the company refused to pay $300 million in stock awards owed under an agreement that brought the radio personality to it. Justice Barbara Kapnick of state Supreme Court threw out the suit last April, turning aside arguments that subscribers to XM Satellite Radio, which merged with Sirius in 2008, should be counted when calculating the compensation.

Just a few days ago Howard talked about watching the show “Girls“, and had quite a few negative comments to say about the show and one of it’s main characters, played by Lena Dunham. He called Lena “A little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill“. He also talked about the frequent nudity scenes, saying how uncomfortable they made him. “She keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like a rape. I don’t want to see that.”he outspoken offered an on-air apology for his bad-boy and insensitive comments.
“
"I felt bad because I really do love the show Girls, and enjoy it, and I admire the girl who writes it. It makes me feel bad, and I think she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick," Stern said.
Last week on his show, Howard targeted Dunham by referring to her as "a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill."
“
He continued his verbal assault by adding, "She keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like a rape. I don't want to see that."
Lena didn’t get her feathers in a ruffle about it, though. She appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman, and when asked about how she felt after the comments, Lena said, “I’m a Howard Stern fan and really think he has earned the right to free speech and he should just go for it. But he did say something that is so funny that I want to get it on my gravestone: ‘Congrats to her. LIPA AND NATIONAL GRID RESTORE SERVICE TO NEARLY 675,000 CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE SANDY; ON TRACK TO HAVE MOST CUSTOMERS RESTORED BY NOVEMBER 7th
Rockaways, Long Beach, and the South Shore Communities Remain a Restoration Priority
(Uniondale, N.Y.) – LIPA and National Grid have restored service to approximately 675,000 customers affected by Hurricane Sandy. From the over one million LIPA customers who lost power due to the super storm that affected eight million electric customers along the east coast, 370,000 customers remain without power. This number includes approximately 100,000 customers in the most severely flooded areas on the south shore, particularly in Long Beach and the Rockaways, where homes and businesses may currently be unable to receive power.
LIPA continues to work around the clock, seven days a week, to restore service as safely and quickly as the situation allows. Nearly 10,000 restoration workers, including 5,200 linemen from throughout the country, continue to work to restore homes and businesses with the expectation of restoring power to 700,000 customers back by the end of this evening. To further support this effort, an additional 1,700 restoration workers arrived last night, with 1,100 workers expected to arrive today. A portion of yesterday’s crews and those who are arriving today, have been airlifted in by the National Guard from as far away as California, Washington and Arizona.
LIPA is on track to have 90% of all customers back online by Wednesday, November 7th with tens of thousands of customers being restored daily. Of the remaining customers to be restored we:

New York’s borough of Staten Island suffered some of the city’s worst destruction and its highest death toll from Hurricane Sandy. Now, a week later, many of its residents feel that they have been abandoned as unlimited resources are lavished on restoring Wall Street and the more upper-class areas of Manhattan.
In the absence of adequate aid from the federal, state and city governments, residents of the island borough have banded together to help each other, with many having seen their homes destroyed or flooded, with their furniture piled high in the street for disposal.Emilio Langilotti of Staten Island, who broke his wrist during Hurricane ... He also doubted the official death toll for Staten Island. “There was not enough help out here,” he said. “There were a lot of people volunteering, charitable stuff going on, buses full of carriages loaded with donations, but there are few official efforts.”
At that point, their friend, Kamal Dbajat, a student at Port Richmond High School, showed a picture on his iPhone of a message written on the side of someone’s house that said, “3 days no help. Thanks Bloomberg.”

- continue to restore power to customers in the most severely damaged areas in and around Brookville, St. James and Port Jefferson, and we are advising customers that they should plan for the potential that power restoration could extend a week or more beyond November 7th.
- currently estimate that there are up to 100,000 customers from the most severely flooded areas on Long Island whose homes and businesses currently may be unable to receive power. LIPA is working with local authorities in those communities to determine when these homes and businesses will be fit to safely receive electric service. The Rockaways, Long Beach, and the south shore of Long Island are communities that were hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy and they remain a restoration priority. Safety remains a big concern as many homes and businesses have been flooded severely, which has raised a potential safety risk due to possible water intrusion into the customer owned electric panels, wiring or appliances

Mark Mejia, a student at City School, was critical of the response to the disaster.

"Yes, the show must go on. We are planning on doing a radio show tomorrow," wrote Stern.Hurricane Sandy is projected to hit New York City in full force on Monday night. NY Transit had already suspended service as of Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Luckily, Howard Stern can rely on Ronnie the Limo Driver to get him through the high speed winds, heavy rains and general chaos on the road.
As far as Tuesday is concerned, that could be a different story, depending on the level of damage Sandy does to New York City Monday night
