Howard Stern Show writer Benjy Bronk disrupts NFL Roger Goodell press conference

Howard Stern Show writer Benjy Bronk interrupted a highly-anticipated news conference Friday afternoon with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell with one of his now-familiar outbursts before he was led out of the room.

Entering from the same door Goodell came through, Bronk casually strolled up to the podium where the commissioner was speaking about a half hour into the event. Wearing a cap and holding another cap in his hand, Bronk was immediately swarmed by about eight security guards and league executives.

"What are you doing? What are you doing?" he screamed as he was dragged out. "Don't take me to an elevator!" he yelled, mocking the video showing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching his then-fiance in a hotel elevator.

When Bronk gets up to his press conference antics, he doesn’t ask Stern for permission, the Shock Jock has said on air. He finds out about it along with everyone else, and says he wouldn’t approve the antics.

Goodell appeared to try to rectify concerns and outrage about recent sexual abuse cases that have rocked the NFL. He promised to change the way the league tackles domestic violence issues.


The itinerant interrupter made an outburst at the NFL press conference before he was dragged out of the room, screaming "Don't take me to an elevator!" Bronk has been a spectacle for years, and notoriously interrupted Anthony Weiner's press conference announcing his resignation from Congress amid a social media sex scandal.

LISA G: TOO HARD ON BENJY?

Early in the Show, Howard addressed yesterday’s Wrap-Up Show, noting that Benjy had defended his relationship with Elisa Jordana to both Gary and Lisa G. In a clip, Lisa G could be heard questioning Benjy’s constant partnership-promotion: “Benjy is trying to be a hero to a non-career.” Lisa insisted she wasn’t jealous--just annoyed: “If she’s that talented, she’ll be fine on her own...it just feels like too much.”

BENJY IS PLUG-PRONE

As the Wrap-Up clips played out, Gary echoed Lisa’s complaint: “It feels very manufactured.” Howard said he agreed with the points Gary and Lisa had tried to make: “Benjy is obsessed with getting his girlfriend honest to the point where he feels like this is cache with her.” Howard continued: “It seems to me that you’re devoting a tremendous amount of your energy to promoting Elisa’s career...and it seems like there’s a lot pressure to get her airtime. Like there’s a lot of pressure to keep her in the limelight.”

Howard thought Benjy should quit promoting their projects (“It looks desperate.”) and Gary agreed: “You’re crowbaring in plugs...you plug day and night. That’s not an interpretation. That’s a fact.” Benjy insisted he was doing nothing wrong: “What I’m doing is not a bad thing. And I did it for another purpose.” He claimed he was not trying “to get her to love me”, but Howard didn’t care: “It’s odd and it’s a distraction.”

LISA G IS CONSUMED

Lisa came in to tell Howard she was no longer covering any Benjy-and-Elisa stories for the Howard100 News because they irritate her too much: “I’ve been a little consumed. That’s why I didn’t cover it...it feels tacky to me and disrespectful to you.” Howard turned to Benjy and sided with Lisa: “It’s a sad situation for you...if she’s going to have a big career, you can’t be Colonel Tom in this situation.” Robin, head down, refused to even take part: “Benjy

Howard told Benjy he was (almost) totally fine with recent changes he’d made to his appearance: “None of it bothers me except that he has to wear his hat at home. I find that crazy. You don’t have to, but you’re doing it. BENJY’S CRUSH: ELISA JORDANA ELISA JORDANA, BENJY’S DREAM GIRL Howard welcomed singer-songwriter Elisa Jordana to the studio to discuss her bizarre friendship with Benjy. Elisa said she first met Benjy over the Internet: “We [first] spoke on J-Date a few years ago.”) when she was still playing in Cobra Starship: “I played keytar. Which is a keyboard that you hold like a guitar...it opened a lot of doors for me.” After she was kicked out, the band went on to great success--she nodded when Howard likened her situation to that of ex-Beatle, Pete Best: “I think about him all the time, actually. Because I really relate to that.” BENJY CONFESSES HIS LOVE Asked how he felt about Elisa, Benjy confessed that he was in love: “This is someone I could spend my whole life with and every day be happy and look forward to being with her. I’m not in love in a commitment kind of way because we haven’t really--we haven’t dated.” Howard watched Elisa’s face as Benjy spoke, laughing: “Poor Elisa’s saying to herself, ‘Why can’t this guy just be a little hotter?’” Elisa said she enjoyed spending time with Benjy--but felt guilty: “I don’t want to take advantage of him because I feel like he’s such a great person.
